Thought of the Week :)

“ A devotee who can call on God while living a householder’s life is a hero indeed.God thinks: “ He is blessed indeed who prays to Me in the midst of his wordly duties. He is trying to find Me, overcoming a great obstacle- pushing away, as it were, a huge block of stone weighing a ton. Such a man is a real Hero.”

-Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa.

To lead a Spiritual life, it is not necessary to give up our jobs, our relationships, leave our family, change our religion, or to travel to distant lands. We start wherever we are, not running away from society, but right in the midst of our chaotic, noisy lives.

Whatever context we find ourselves in, is a suitable one to overcome our problems and grow to our full potential as humans. We tend to overlook upon the other home as peaceful, that other couple as perfect, the other parent-child relationship as ideal, but this isn’t likely.

Everyone has certain liabilities as well as assets.

Everyone has imperfections and have committed mistakes and learnt that vital lesson of life.

For I truly believe that we all are in the Right Place, at the Right Time learning the Right Lesson :)

Some flowers grow best in the Sun while others do well in Shade.

Remember, God puts us where we grow best and accordingly gives us people and situations to grow with!! For He is the Best Teacher we could ever have.

His Mystics too are loving realists.

“ Don’t wait for ideal conditions. You’ll never find them,” they admonish. “ Begin! And the conditions you seek and need will come to you.”

Krishnaji,
You rightly pointed out that we must clearly define our priority in life. We must see all problem as an opportunity to slove and learning process.

Salaam Dearest Daughter Krisha :)

A lovely and true post, indeed! Among the Sufis of the Nimatullahi Order, we are admonished to live in society and have productive work, raise families, etc, all the while saying our zekr with each breath, in effect praying to God as we live each moment.

My love to you and your family this Eid. Eid Mubarak!!

Ya Haqq!

Dear Krishna Ji,
Namaskar,
I fully admire your insights:
..'God puts us where we grow best and accordingly gives us people and situations to grow with!!..'
Therefore, we should always be grateful to HIM under any situation/circumstances.Grumbling against HIS will amount to sinning.
Thank you so much or sharing another aspect of TRUTH.
God bless.

Esteemed Krishna:

We are here to learn what we need to learn so that we can attain that state of perfection which will allow us to become one with God. This is my understanding.

The grass often looks greener on the other side of the fence, but as you say, Krishna, "everyone has imperfections and have committed mistakes". I agree. No one is perfect. We sometimes, maybe often, forget this and judge others harshly. That is not our job.

"A devotee who can call on God while living a householder’s life is a hero indeed." Very true. It is easy for a monk to remember God; it is what he does.

You are absolutely right Krishna G.
We can find God in our daily work. He is present everywhere.
Sometimes if we don't achieve something then we blame God for that but in fact that very thing was not suitable for us. That is why God did not let us have that. God blesses everyone equally. The need is to realise that.

Waleykum As Salam..
My Krishna dear, thank you for inquiring about this 'small being', hehe. I always feel the warmth of care and affinity in your kind words, and I really feel thankful to God for this favour. My dear, like every human, unfortunately, I was also caught in some petty worldy issues.. and that never stops as long as we live, you know.

I am fine. Happy and Well. :-) Life is just going on under a constant melody. Fumes, heat and tears apparently look sad, but if one happen to be in the open 'Food Street' of Lahore (that is a bit costly also, hehe).. there is also present fumes, heat and tears due to cooking on the roadside BBQ or other food stalls.. but the combination is such, that it tends to appear as a melody!

Love can purge this world! You pray for me. :-) take care. With best wishes, love and prayers.. **Eid Mubarak**!! :-)

This post resonates with my own beliefs and intentions. We don't have to be monks and ascetics to pursue a deep spiritual path. One can truly be a householder at the same time.
